Thanked: 522ORNATE WASHERS
I finally found a place that has ornate washers suitable for pinning razors. They come in sterling silver and gold plated. I also found some others on the same day at A.C. Moore art & craft store.
I flew home and pinned a razor as fast as I could. I attached pics. I hope they came through.

Thanked: 20I like! I really like bolsters on the scales and I don't know if I like the bolsters better or these washers.
We don't have A.C. Moore here. Do you think Hobby Lobby would have them...maybe Michaels. What are they called?

Thanked: 522Ornate washers
One of the best places to find these washers would be a shop that specializes in "beading". Women know where to find these bead shops.
Teenage girls are often into beading also. Check your local yellow pages. Good Luck

Very nice. I've found similar at local craft shops but with their vast selection I still find them limited in what I would deem suitable. The ones you pictured are great.

That's a nice touch. I'm going to have to get me some of those when I take a stab at making scales.
Good find.

Thanked: 522More pinning acoutrement sources
You might try PMing "cannonfodder" for sources of pinning washers and things of that nature. He has done some nice work and I have seen his equipment case. Maybe MAX or SHAM can help you there also.
OR: just post a request on the restoration forum for help on this matter.
There are good guys here who share information readily...............
