    That's exactly what I did. My heat treater told me not to go any thinner than 1/16". Grinder works best with water.

    Grinder is SLOW to remove the material, but it's faster than sandpaper. If you had access to anyone with a bench grinder I would use it to rough out a bit before going to a grinder like this one. Expect a couple hours before HT and a couple after...just for the hollow. Then you will have to finish up with sandpaper as the wheel is somewhere around 150 grit if I were to estimate it.

    I think it is 180 grit if I recall correctly. But I might be wrong...again!
