    Update
I've got a Tormek with a 10 wheel that I used for the finish grind. Slow but very cool on the blade. The major drawback is in a couple of deeper scratches, not easily removed.
Here is the 1st razor. Still needs sharpened and a makers mark. I have not decided which way to go with the makers mark. I also ran into an issue with the stand. It cracked after cutting to shape, but not for about 6 hours. I am concerned that the crack will continue to propagate. Working with natural materials can be a challenge. I also have a little more polishing to put into the toe end of the blade. When the makers mark is sone I am going to post in Show and Tell. I am not as far with this blades brother.

I really like the stand concept for this. This is a nice piece. Its a shame the stand cracked. Your right sometimes natural materials can have a mind of their own.

No big deal about the craxck in the stand, it adds to rustickness of the razor! I would keep it as is.
I think the crack makes it look more natural.

Yeah I dunno, I would not leave a crack in a knife handle.

    In a knife handle, no.
But in a stand it could be acceptable. It really depends on how the crack turns out, and whether it progresses or not.
It could add to the 'rustic' look.

I wouldn't worry about it if it was made for me, I like the natural beauty & faults of working with natural products. If I were making it for a customer, I would replace the holder.

Even then, it would depend on what the customer wanted.
I once had a custom made, and asked for the razor to have a charred, hammered look.
With such a razor, a rough stand would fit just perfectly.

I like the idea of the "jimps" going through sides of the tang and not just top/bottom.

    Thanks for the props guys.
I picked up a piece of another piece of wood, a little lighter in color with a real nice grain pattern. Problem is that I have to let it sit for a while to release moisture (to avoid cracking). I am just a bit bummed. I had to scrape wax of of the sides and now it needs to sit. My last knife handle I did the same and it sat for around 6 weeks.

I will salvage the cracked holder, for what, I jam not sure yet.
