    Looking good! Is this one a composite blade? The top middle frame looks as if there is a cutting bit but I can't tell if you welded it to the billet or not.

    I really want to try forging one, what size steel do you recommend starting with? Would 25mm X 6mm be good or would bigger (like 30mm) b better?

    yes , the small piece of steel is forge welded in the pur iron .
    for me the best size is :
    for the iron : 8x20mm
    for the steel : 3mm

    Ok I can see the forge weld now, I'm viewing this on my phone so its a little small! I've been searching many forums and sites looking for a basic tutorial on making a kamisori, either by grinding or forging. I have capabilities for both ways and am grindin my own now. Does anyone have any links or anywhere they can point me with info? I can not do forge welding though, so a mono steel version is what I would have to do.
