Default The Gentleman's Den - Anyone use his service?

Been talking to the guy that runs this page, as well as the corresponding instagram. His name is Val Harsonsky. He does restorations and honing etc. Has anyone here heard of him or used his services before? He's located in Toronto, Ontario. Just thought I'd ask around before having him to any work for me.

Just saw this thread in a search...Val is a great guy, met with him a few times for coffee, he's done all my blades and finds some great one's as well. He's done the W&B 9/8 Celebrated FBU, the W&B 9/8 cleaver, the W&B 7/8 Celebrated, as well as two others, a TI 69, and a Holeka 50, all are posted here.

He's currently working on the W&B 16/17 Anchor and a Boker King Cutter I found with MOP inlay scales. He really does a great job restoring, and he can hone a blade to absolutely buttery smooth.

This is my opinion, but Val stands by his work 100%, if you have a design in mind, he will patiently work with you to achieve the results you want, no problem.

When we both get some time, he's agreed to help me learn how to hone my blades properly.

If you have any work you need, or simply honing services, you can't go wrong with Val, he's a truly nice guy with some great skills!!

Agreed, he has honed my razors for me since then. I also got my crown and sword from him. I talk to him often now. I'm cleaning up a frameback for him to scale in the green kirinite (which is also the wedge material in my Ern in the pic) and hone.

Perhaps this would be a good thread to show his work in.

Met Val at the last SWOntario meet up and saw a great assortment of his work. Honed with him for a while over a glass of scotch and some cigars as well, getting some great pointers as a newbie.
I agree with others that his skills and personality are both top notch. You won't be disappointed working with him.
    Cheers.

Here's two W&B's he did for me, out of 7 or 8, lost count, he's also doing the W&B 16/17 Anchor razor.

    Here's the W&B 7/8 Celebrated Hollow, and the 9/8 W&B Chopper,:

I talk to him on Instagram all the time. Nice guy. My buddy mike deals with him frequently, mike swears by his work, I have seen a couple pieces he's done and it looks good.
