My question would be how do you know if the guy giving you instruction really knows anything about straights. They don't use them there to shave. They use disposables.

I have no idea how good/bad the person is who's giving the lesson, but here's my £0.02.
When I was starting out, I booked a lesson at Trumpers in London for about £75. While it was an interesting experience, I came away thinking that I'd learned a lot more from watching Lynn's DVD and that the lesson has been a bit of a waste of money.
In my opinion, I'd say go for a similar TI from Classicshaving, pay to have it honed by Lynn, watch Lynn's DVD (several times), and take up the offer of free instruction from jscott. I think you'd be getting a much 'better' package doing it that way.

Thanked: 0Is the AOS offering Sheffield Steel? I can't make it out. If you can get a TI from Classic that's Sheffield Steel there is no competition in my mind. Go Classic and get the better quality steel
