Default DE vs Straight-not the dilemma you're thinking of.

I own both DEs and straights. Until now it has been wonderful to go into the bathroom and choose which one I use.
I absolutely love the feel of a straight against my face, and the difference in technique, the beauty of the razor itself, etc.
With the DE it is familiar territory, since it's what I started on in the '70s. I also like to try different blades, and have been playing around with that for the last few days, and having loads of fun and learning a lot, too.
But I miss the straight. But I really want to continue with the DE, the blades, etc.
Hence my dilemma. If I choose the DE, I'll be jonesing to use the straight. If I choose the straight, I'll be itching to go scrounging around in my cabinet, choosing DE blades and razor.
Oh the humanity! I need a twin growing out of the side of my neck or something.

    Now that is an experiment!!!

Of course, you should switch sides every week or so.

It's so funny how it used to be "Man it sucks I have to shave everyday." to now "Man it sucks I can shave only once a day."

I'm in a similar position(not really a problem, but a pleasantry). What I do is create/wait for situations where its more convenient to use the DE(which isn't too often). I really feel the SE/DE help me appreciate the SR. It enhances the novelty and the overall joy of shaving.

Glad you're conundrum is a pleasant one.

I too am a DE/Str8 back an forth guy. Really enjoy the shave I get with str8s, but love my DE's too. So here is my fix for that. I alternate shaves between razors. An for the times when I really want to use both an cant decide I shave WTG, XTG with str8 an ATG with DE. Problem solved.

I decided to pack my D/E for a short break i am on, i have owned it for more than 6 months and have used it probably 4 times, so these few days away will double that, it is ok, but i much prefer my straight, however the convenience is good, all i had to bring was a little tub of cream, travel D/E and a brush.
