Thanked: 0Gathering for North Carolinians (and anyone else who wants)
It seems like there are a good number of us in or around North Carolina. Maybe it would be worth trying to get an informal gathering together. We could trade, show off razors and techniques, hone some razors, maybe have some eastern style bbq and some beer. Does this appeal to anyone else? If so, any thoughts or ideas as to possible dates or places? If there is interest, we could probably find a central location that is within three hours of driving for everyone, and people could probably carpool too.

I'm in the Triangle area... live in Creedmoor, work in Durham. I think this idea sounds like a lot of fun.

Cary NC here. Not a relocated Yankee. Sounds like a great idea. Refreshing idea.... eastern NC bar-b-q. Is there any other?

Thanked: 0Well since I'm blind, I could use a ride to such a manly event. My S.O. did offer but doesn't seem fair to her. Let me know if and when.

OK who is going to step up and organize this? We can do this guys, lets first decide what else we want to do? I know that SO that come won't want to hear all this, so do we go to a park? A lake? or a Mall? Give some input. I have a few collector razors I'll bring, My Norton, barber hones, And my Tony #2 strop, and some samples of colleen's soap, so you can see some of these things we talk about, if you don't already have them. I am by no means a Honemiester, but I can get a razor to cut hair. Alright, next.

Thanked: 0Sounds like most people are in the triangle (except Phil). Does anyone know of any places in the area that would be good. Maybe if we all make a donation to Woodcraft they'd let us hang out there. As far as dates, I think all graduations are the weekend of the 13th (and that's also mothers day), so how about either the weekend before or the weekend after? I'd prefer a Sunday, but not for any particular reason.
I've got lots of soap, some wood, and a few project razors I could bring. I think it would be great to see all the different stuff people have and how people strop, hone, test, etc.
