I guess a slew of electrics and then a slew or cartridge razors of various kinds and then numerous DEs and straights.

    Mach 3.
    Electric Razor.
    Disposable.
DE with various blades and combs.
    Shavette.
    Straight.
Properly old razor, circa the middle ages - once and just once was this used.
Flint - freshly sheered, I managed to get a barely passable shave from this and unsurprisingly it was nowhere near the shaves from a straight. There was something badass about shaving from nature but the romance wore off after two shaves and I just went shaveless for the remainder of the trip.

Shaving with some sort of huge and unwieldy knife is next on the cards to try I think!

Wow. What a stroll down Memory Lane this is.

    Gillette Tech (thanks Dad)
    Schick injector
    Techmatic
    Norelco Tripleheader
    Bic disposibles
    Trac Two
    Gillette Sensor
    Mach this and that
    A couple of Braun electrics
    Schick Hydro
    Straights
    Rolls Razor
    Merkur 1904
    Gillette Slim Adjustable
    Gillette Flare

The old man was a pretty smart guy. I ended up about where he started me off.

Started with a Sunbeam electric in the late 60's.

Then it was the usual collection of injectors, cartridges, etc.

In the early 80's started with a Hoffritz straight (and I wish I knew what I did with it). Lost interest in it after a while, back to cartridges, disposables, and a Norelco electric.

Made the move to a Merkur Futur and subsequently a Muhle R41 (2011 version). Picked up a Gillette W3 Super Speed and Schick Krona (both far too mild). Tried a shavette (horrible experience) and a feather Artist; didn't like that either. Went back to straight razors after that. Now I only have the Muhle, a Merkur 33C (for travel) and a dozen straights.

    1. Father's electric (I think it was an old Braun), back when once a month was more than enough...
    2. My own electric, a Braun Syncho IIRC
    3. Mach3 with canned goo
    4. DE with proper soap & brush lather since summer 2012
    5. I added Straight Razors a couple months later
    6. I added a shavette two months ago

    Cheers.

    Same for me.

Hated the once or twice a week shave with the cartridge and the daily scourge of the Braun electric to keep things clean...what a miserable way to start the day. If there's any image in my mind of shaving being a chore...this is it for me.
