Thanked: 4942My Grandpa got me a Barber Shop shave when I was 21. It was awesome and with my 21 year old beard, I didn't have to shave for 2 days. I was hooked right from there. Within a week I purchased a Chicago Cutlery 5/8 razor similar to the Dovo Best Quality and used that razor off an on for the next twenty years sending it out to knife sharpeners sometimes or cutlery shops. Problem was that sometimes it came back shave ready and sometimes not. It was the quest to learn to hone my own razor which went on for about 2 years on the internet and not being able to find many answers that led me to start the Yahoo SRP. There was so little information available at the time and that included DE information too. It is amazing how much our environment has grown from just that first little forum.
I am amazed at how many best edges from so many razors that I have gotten over the last 15 years. It is really impossible for me to just pick one. Somehow those magical edges and shaves just seem to appear every now and then.
Have fun.

I think an excellent topic would be an in depth look at reshaping a heel spur and stabilizers. Glenn went over it briefly in his breadknife video but I would love to see a more detailed video. Also, something I didn't understand fully as a beginner was honing a razor with double stabilizers. I would always go too far back and make unsightly marks on the stabilizers. Most new factory razors are in this style so I think it would help new guys understand where the actual heels is and not hone beyond the smaller stabilizer. That's just my two cents. Once again thanks to you and all the other guys that produce this wonderful content for us.
Razor rich, but money poor. I should have diversified into Eschers!
