Sharpologist guest post
Just wanted to share a little something to that made my day. I was asked to guest post on Sharpologist.com and my article went up today. It was very nice dealing with Mark (Mantic59) and has been a great experience all around. If you want to check out the article its at http://sharpologist.com/2015/03/case...r-shaving.html.

Great write up!
I have tried the cold water shave and won't go back to hot water, actually, can't would be a better way to put it. Maybe not for everyone but I think worth a look. My best shave is not to shower first and use cold tap water or tepid tap water, either one gets me the same results. Lather rinse, splash, lather shave.

You make a pretty convincing case for cold water. I guess it's something else to try in the morning.

Nice! The Polar Bear Club needs all the good publicity it can get. Honest - we are not crazy.

I don't use ice water but I do find a room temp shave to be much more comfortable. Haven't used hot water in a long time.

I'm glad everyone enjoyed the article. I still feel there is a place for warm water shaves, especially if you live in an area were it's colder outside than anything you would put on your face. They feel nice and are luxurious, but for now I will stick to my cold tap water.

Congrats on the "guest writer" status.
I have followed the cold shave threads since I have been here. After reading your article, I finally decided that I would try a "cold" shave" this morning. I followed all the same prep, lather, razor etc as I would any other day, just using cold water. I went at this with an objective concentration.
My experience was that the cold lather warmed to skin temp before I had my razor in hand, the washcloth between passes was refreshing rather that relaxing, and the shave no different in closeness or irritation than any other shave over the last 1.5 yrs.
In short cold or hot for me seems to make no difference in the end product, Any claims of one method being superior to the other appear to be based on anecdotal evidence as a quick search of the internet reveals no properly conducted trials comparing the two.
YMMV and whatever trips your trigger! The easy road is rarely rewarding.
