I received a couple of photo's from Cavalry Scout Platoon Sergeant Chris. The razor he is using was from one of our great members and when it came in I thought it was a real beauty that had been well cared for and dressed in a new set of scales so I marked that one for Chris and he is delighted and thanks us all once again.

I'm really bummed that I just saw this thread but happy they got "hooked up". Way to go to everyone involved donating and making this happen.

Thought I'd revive this great thread for an update. Are the platoon still deployed? Are they home? Are they all safe and well? Have any of the platoon stayed with SRs or DEs and become members here? I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in how they got on.

I will email the Platoon Sergeant and see how things are going. It usally takes a about 3 days before I hear back from him.

I heard from Platoon Sergeant Walters. He and some troop members have made it home
already for ADVON (advanced echelon). The balance of the scouts are due home the first
few weeks in November. Advanced echelon can work both ways apparently as a group of men go first to be sure preparations are in place for the troops following.

He feels they will redeploy but of course has no idea when. There are 7 permanent straight shavers and most of the rest are confirmed DE shavers.

7 straight shavers out of twenty,, that's a lot better than I expected,,, especially with young guys.

Excellent. Good to hear some are already home and the rest haven't got too long to go before they get home too. Fingers crossed they all make it out safely. I wonder if any of the SR and DE users will join us here? Hope so. Thanks very much lz6 for getting the update.
