My wife (I being 27 she being 25) will not let me wear it in her presence because quote "It makes you smell like an 80 year old man." In all honesty it reminds me of an older barbershop. I enjoy it but it is unique, you're gonna have to smell it to understand.
As for the original topic, +1 on the stropping technique. For someone who is a non user of straights that will be the biggest attention grabber and seems to be what most people associate straight razor shaving with, probably because movies and TV show the stropping but not the actual shaving.

How very unfortunate for you, to come this far and not have a chance to be transported back to another, simpler era for just a few cents...
It is magical, with a splash I am carried back decades, to a chair in my Grandfathers Barber Shop at the end of the strait era (the mid-60s) after he has razor edged my pre-teen neck.

I think you need to have a shave demonstration. Either shave yourself or someone that trusts you. Let people see how easy it is to shave the classic way and feel a properly shaved face.

If this demo is about they way it was done 100 years ago, bring barber hones, coticules, eschers and other natural stones that are period correct

And you need to offer to Bleed people, to get out the bad humors...

My Grandfather was still bleeding people from the "Old Country" in the back room of his Barber shop until my Aunt went to Nursing School, and explained to him that he could not properly sterilize the spring loaded slicer gizmo (boy would I like to get my hands on that). He stopped immediately -

Leeches, you could use leeches in your demo...

And Dentistry...that was another skill set of old time Barbers..

Some parts of the "good ole days" where probably not that great...

Have you ever tried the "shaving the lather off of a balloon" trick?
One of my Barbers told me that was how shaving was taught in Barber College...
You could give them a lathered balloon and a shavette - charge extra for the Poncho...

Yes, and explain how the Barber's pole began with only a red stripe to symbolize the blood running around and down the dangling arm!
