    Works great for me,....wipe the soap on my forearm, finish first pass, rinse off the forearm, face and wipe blade clean and dry then re lather.
    Same routine as professional barbers. (not that there are many pro barbers left anymore)

    I use Ed's solution (forearm wipe) during passes. Between passes, when I can give it my full attention, I do an under-the-tap rinse.

    I use a damp sponge in a container on the sink counter top to strop the lather off the blade. The only time the blade goes near the tap is for a final rinse when finished shaving. So far it's been working, touch wood.
