    Default New razor met faucet!!

Brand new Snail Forge Azumi had a fight with the faucet. I guess you know who won that battle. Haha. I knew I should have bought a 1k chosera. Off to the post office in the morning and a call to Don for more hones. Got to love this hobby when you have a addictive personality. Time to load cart, hopefully another razor doesn't sneak it's way in.

That sux mate. I always fill the basin and leave the taps off, stay well away from them so I don't hit them. Have dropped one on the floor though with equally sad result..
Hope you can hone it out.
    Cheers.

I feel your pain, we've all been there, a couple of times

live and learn, at least we lived

I've heard great things about a 'wipe-off sponge', you'll have to go nowhere near that evil faucet

im sure Lynn will get it out. It's only bevel deep at the toe. A 1k should get it. I can see it under a loupe and its strange it looks like it twisted the edge. No split. I didn't strop it because I was worried it may rip my strop. But under naked eye you can't see it. I don't shave with water. I turned the faucet on to clean it off and just was careless.

I prefer to keep my razors well away from water, I wipe the blade on my forearm during passes an wipe it on a towel at the end.
This probably won't work if you are worried about tarnish as you should clean off soap residue to help prevent that but I am not worried about mirror finishes etc.

Ouch! Lesson learned, at least it didn't cause too much damage... Just think though, it gives you a good excuse to expand your collection and supplies

@ernie your 100% correct. Before it happened I was already thinking what to buy next.

Razordinkaphobia is real I tell you!
And we all cringe upon hearing your bad news...

I've used the damp folded washcloth on the counter for most of my three+ years with a Straight - my Razordinkaphobia is so great.
A recent shave den remodel and some travel forced me to adapt (space limits) and I remembered Ed's comment about using your forearm...it works!

Remodel is done but I am still using the forearm. One carefull hot water rinse at the end.
Bonus - it has made me a better, more methodical shaver.

A goose neck faucet is an inexpensive and easy solution.

Any, I remember my 1st loss to the "spitting silver snake", aka the faucet. Hopefully it's not too bad.
