Thread: North by northwest

I was watching north by northwest today and noticed that at around 1h 3mins there is a scene where cary grant has a shave at a train station.
The guy next to him is using a straight razor, Cary grant is using what appears to be a tiny safety razor. It looks to be about half size blade wise and the handle looked to be about 2/3 of a toothpick.
Were these early disposable vending machine razors or something?

One of my favourite films, and the look on that guys face is great as is his technique. The best example of no mess no fuss shaving with a straight.
It's been discussed before - iirc it was a ladies travel razor or eyebrow razor or something. How are you going?

Cheers, I quite enjoyed it, even if the humour was a bit cheesy. I was also slightly surprised at the fairly overt sex references. The movie was very stylish though.

I am not too bad, though after working pretty hard for 4 days, barely eating yesterday then drinking a bottle and a half of wine (3 bottles between me and a friend) last night I was stuffed today.

I am more of a travels from my sofa kind of guy. But thanks for the offer. I reckon cary grants character would have been pretty stinky by the time he got the fresh clothes in the hospital. He only had his suit sponged at the hotel, seemingly didn't shower and didn't wash out his shirt.
