They look great original, but from awhile back looking at 10pups acrylic colors on his set , I m not sure anymore, I guess if I was a guy who followed originality , I would have all the custom razors I have , so I vote go your own route, tc

How close to mint is the blade ? A Goldedge with original scales is worth a lot more than a Goldedge rescaled, no matter how close they are to the original. OTOH, if it is a keeper, or not in minty condition anyway, go with what you feel is 'close enough.'

    Kinda what I figured.
Blade is looking good now but the folks is gone on it. The scales were toast but I have a few extras.
My thinking was ZERO chance of cell rot....but I might just put this one on the bay and was wondering what would be more desirable.
There are plenty of original scales, cell rot waiting to happen ones out there. OTOH.... a nice original is pretty darn cool looking also.
    What to do....WHAT TO DO.....

If it is the acrylic, which color?
I would like to know what everybody is thinking on this matter.
    Thanks,

That really depends on what you want. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have always tried to please myself when I was re-working anything. after all your the one that will use it. if it's for resale then it really shouldn't make too much difference. if it's reworked whether original scales or other it's still reworked. Please yourself. but now that's my opinion and opinions are like elbows hope every one has one.

I went both ways. I made myself custom scales for my Goldenedge.
But I kept the original scales set aside for the just in case, I had to sell.
The chance of when cell rot is coming keeps me checking all my cracked ice ducks monthly.
New Scales and I sleep better at night.

The PIMP SATINBABY was pretty tuff. Maybe needs a PIMP DADDY.

Yeah, I like original scales, but since it's going to look restored already may be just go for the PIMP BABY DADDY

Would be something different, and loud but the character redeems it.
Trying to mimic the cracked ice is always going to look like a wannabe.

I vividly remember your post of the Duck'Lorange. Absolutely killer! If you were to do another in clear acrylic I'd like to see it in blue or purple.
Original is absolutely awesome, but...Why not dare to be different?
    Just my 2 cents.

Well here is the Blue and the Original....
    Just for comparison.
