    Default Microchipping?

I am taking a look at my 5/8 wapienica and I think I am noticing a small chip or microchipping. I don't know. What could be the cause of this? I have been very careful and have not bumped the edge against a thing. I ran it over the Linen side of my barber strop and it just popped right up. What should I do?

First... make sure that it is a chip. Use either a microscope or lacking that then use the thumbnail test. If it is a chip then go back to a 4000 grit hone and work it out. Then finish honing and test shave.

If it is not a chip then strop it on the leather. While you are stropping notice if the razor scratches the leather. If so then the edge is bad and needs to be rehoned.

Check the linen on your strop for embedded grit/dirt.

I will check it out. Problem is I don't have a 4000k hone.
