Thread: Experience with aframestokyo?

Hello good people,
Probably being paranoid and impatient but just wondering if my current experience with Aframestokyo is normal. I ordered a Kanoyama though their yahoo store and paid with paypal. The next day the paypal was showing as authorized but awaiting the vendors to accept the payment. The did the following day so I assume my order was recieved.

Thing is I am yet to recieve any communication from them at all. I didn't register and checked out as a guest because they require an AOL or one other type of account - neither of which I have nor have interest in having.

So the third day (two days ago) after buy the strop, I send them an email to aframestokyo.com asking for confirmation and if I would get an email notifying me of the strop being shipped so I could know when to expect it. They have not responded to that request.

So before I shoot off another email asking what is going on, and could they please respond, I wanted to ask here if this is normal? Should I have got an order confirmation? Would I have got a shipping confirmation? Do they normally respond to emails?

Mine shipped several days after I ordered it. It took enough time to get me thinking of asking when will they ship.
I did get a paypal notification with tracking.

I've never dealt with them .......... but .......... if you don't hear back from them open a dispute through paypal. That will definitely get their attention. That said, my guess is they will get it to you in a reasonable amount of time. Haven't heard any horror stories about them.

Same with both my orders from them, took a few days to ship then I got the tracking, I guess if you don't set up an account they don't have enough info to keep us in the loop, but I get my orders non the less, and am happy with the products. Tc

Plus like Jimmy said if you pay thru PayPal, your safe.

Sxot, no worries at all. Takeshi Aoki, the owner, is completely reliable. The pay method through the system he uses slows things a bit. I have purchased several strops, razors and stones from him over the years.

Many have bought from them over the years (including me) and I've never seen any issues.

Ditto what everyone else has said - very reliable vendor, orders seem to take a few days to process, but he always delivers. My Kanayama 60000 strop was packaged to withstand an earthquake!

I have placed two orders with Aoki and had no problems.

As everyone else, had no trouble with Takeshi. Ordered from him about 4 times and usually my order gets to me in just over a week to England.
He usually takes a day or two to reply to emails, and hes been more than helpful with me in the past.

Oh by the way, congratulations on your Kanayama, you'll love it.

Sometimes I wish he would update his inventory and clean up his razor and stone pages. Other times I like browsing because the more you see the better....This is especially good when I have no intention of buying which is about 99.9% of the time. I still regularly visit his site.
