    I've seen a 7 day set with ivory recently listed as 'bone'. Guy probably knows it isn't, but bone is acceptable.

    That you have. I think that's one of the reasons I am taking a pause between buys.

    It doesn't hurt that some of the vintage buys are cheap. The temptation is to buy quite a few of them.

    I'd bet that is celluloid. Rare to find inlays in either bone or ivory. Some older Sheffield razors had inlays in ivory but you can usually tell.

    This is the auction where the guy calls them 'bone' but I'd bet ivory ;

    Did that eBay alert just go off, better have a quick look.

    That went downhill fast.

    Think I will spend some time this weekend cleaning some of my finds up.
    To help my RAD I am selling off most of my 5/8ths razors and my "Singles". I have kept one 5 day (and counting) set of 5/8ths because they were in business only between 1913 to 1927. Also to keep RAD in check, go look for "in good shape" boxes for your razors, its neat finding a in "PERFECT" condition box for your Bengall razor.

    I don't buy too many razors these days. However, if that DD Napoleon ever appears somewhere I better move fast. I'll bet Jimmy would pinch it in a heartbeat.

    I try to avoid the ebay, its a evil place and only grants temporary relief of RAD. Go to the antique shows and stores far and wide, and you will come across one of those razors that will let you ride that RAD high for some time.
