Default What will happen to your straight shaving related collection after you die?

At the moment I am drawing up my will.

One of the questions that came up was: what is going to happen with my collection of straights and hones? My heirs haven't got a clue. My collection is rather modest, a few K at the most. My guess is that some of you guys have a much more valuable collection than I have. My partner nor my kids are interested in it. They won't know what to do with it. I don't want it to end up in a junkyard.

So, what have you planned for your collection after you passed away?

I've also thought about it... seriously. Like yours, mine ("all" of it) might be worth $1K-$1.5K... a bit more, with shaving brushes. I figure on having it sent to the PIF forum. My shaving soaps, creams, and afterscents are already spoken-for.

    Live long, Kees... and prosper!

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

Huh... I must be getting old...

"PIF" is an acronym: Pay It Forward.

I guess I meant the "giveaway" crew/gang here on SRP. As JimmyHAD used to tell me, "Ya can't take it with ya" (which never stopped anyone from acquiring more, lol)

I'm taking it all with me. I've been preapproved.

I have nobody to leave any of my belongings too. When my friend passed away, he asked me to take care of his cats, and left me a satchel full of gemstones to pay for their care. Problem is, I dont know anything about stones, or where to sell them, how to describe them etc.

So, for my belongings, my family will take them and sell them I'm sure, but every item has begun getting labeled. Like "Escher Hone" $500 Is the stone worth that much? No, but believing that I paid such a price will prevent them from just putting it out at the yard sale for .50 cents!

Don't go to far out of line or they will think that you were actually crazier than they originally thought and ignore the tags anyway.

For a young guy like me that's a depressing thought 😐

I have no idea or interest in the value of my kit but I'm hoping my son will take up the mantle before I'm gone.
