Of my last 6 purchases off Ebay, 4 of them have been refunded by Ebay due to the seller not shipping or offering proof of shipping or responding at all.

I'll still poke around, but unless I see the seller has thousands of happy purchasers.... I'm going to stay away.

What's worse is when you buy a blade in a rush because it's what you want only to then realise, Oh, I never saw those pits and chips, rust , Oh and it's a shorty too

So what you are saying is that Paypal is evil as well?

PayPal is the estranged wife of eBay. They used to be the same company, and then they separated. They are likely still the same core group of shareholders. They too are in it for the money, and do not ever expect anything special from them. Unlike a small town grocer, you will not ever get a Christmas card or chocolates or a thank you no matter how much business you do there. They are a large insensitive unfeeling machine, built to provide a service and make money.

But if Paypal facilitates our use of the evil Ebay then cuts us off when we are fully hooked, they are evil too.
Now please excuse me someone just outbid me and I have to remedy the situation!

Although I never had a bad experience on EBAY, I never used it habitually either. I acquired pretty much what I thought I was after when the getting was a bit better than it seems to be now. There is usually not much on there that I would fork over the crazy asking prices for like big WB's or Insanely priced Eschers. I have come to like our own classifieds much better these days as a more straight forward method of purchase without all the headaches. I have always been very happy with the price and quality of my SRP classified purchases.
