I cannot get to the 2nd page of this thread for some reason?
Wife and I went out for a look this AM. Our neighborhood seems to be mostly OK.
Long lines in the rain at the grocery stores.
Big concern is the water being released from the reservoirs flooding lots of folks.
Thank goodness for the help coming in. It might get worse before it gets better.
On another note, it looks like Harold and those on the East coast have some bad stuff going on. Looks like it will climb up the seaboard....
Well as many of you saw, I was up until just before sunrise. I finally laid down. I just went outside to look at the water awhile ago. It looks like it went down maybe just a couple inches. The thing is when things like this happens, even though the rain has pretty much slacked off, the Brazos River is still rising due to areas from the north draining into the river. The question is, when the river crests, will it get worse? It's hard to say right now but I hope it doesn't get any worse. We should all feel blessed because we could have taken more of a hit from this hurricane & it could be worse than it is. Todays pics:

I just saw a video of our mayor here in Sugar Land on FB & he says the levees are functioning properly & that things might be better than many anticipated so that is great news. He also said that water might be going down sooner than expected. :tu
Well before I laid down last night the streets were still flooded all the way across & up to the curbs. I got up a few minutes ago & it is much better. A pickup drove by pretty fast & he was probably one of the people driving around when it was flooded making wakes & possible making water go into some houses which just had water a few inches away from their doors because a neighbor complained about it. Some people don't think that when they create a wave like that, it's just like being at the beach..........sometimes the waves slack off & sometimes the waves get bigger & will come further on shore. I took the last two pics trying not to get the guy in the third pic & the fourth right after but the camera was not set for multiple shots.

That's great news Steve. Its incredible how fast the water recedes. I am glad you made it through.
Thanks Hacker, I was thinking we would have less water this morning but didn't know how much. I had cancelled an appointment with Goodyear to get 4 new tires on my truck because they have free installation until tomorrow midnight but when I did cancel the person I was speaking to said they would still honor the deal. I do feel a lot better it is like this now but the Brazos River is expected to crest tomorrow or Friday so no telling. I don't think we'll have anything to worry about if all retention ponds & levees are pumped out.
