What do you use for a razor case when Out 'n Aboot ;)
Morning Fellas,
Just had a quick question to place out to everyone, what do you all use when traveling to place your razors in?
For people who don't have the original box in most cases, this is something that they must consider when out and about. Some have told me that you can place them rubber banded in an eyeglass case, but I would like to hear about other inventions people have thought of.
Will be anticipating some good results

I use a Daines and Hathaway wet pack

(that was the quickest picture I could find)
And I put the razor in one of the middle loops.
Not made in Canada but at least part of the Commonwealth"But you're not as confused as him are you. I mean, it's not your job to be as confused as Nigel. "

If you don't have a razor coffin that fits your razor, you can use a cardboard gift box (one like a ladies necklace or a pen set would come in, complete with cotton inserts). A rubber band keeps it closed. I like this as the cardboard and cotton absorb any moisture left on the razor after drying. The one I use easily holds two razors. I just drop it in my Dopp Kit with the rest of my gear (toothpaste, deodorant, toothbrush, etc. ).

Thanked: 0Just so happens...
Hey,
In a search for the perfect case, I have been making my own, and I planned on putting up a couple for sale. I looked at that Dopp kit as QED sells them too, but that was more than I wanted to spend, as the kit would not hold all the other stuff I travel with, so would end up being put inside another kit, etc.
I have had a few razor tool rolls made for me, and I was going to see if I couldn't get the price down and market them on here, but that was stalled, and they are pretty big to transport (12 padded slots in a tool roll configuration) a single razor or two (tried it recently), didn't like it. They are good to store the razors I have in, but not for transport.
SO, when I recently got an Olivewood TI, the cheesy leather case came with it, thin and flimsy, but it did the job. I reverse engineered the case, got a hold of some nice leather, and made a bunch of my own in two different colors - a nice burgundy and a toffee colored brown. The leather is twice as thick (at least) as the TI cases, and the edges are dyed, semi-burnished and hand sewn - and will at this point fit very comfortably the largest razor I have (7/8 Dovo Favorit and the 7/8 TI). I am sure that Tony could duplicate my best efforts with that fancy stitcher of his, but these are done old style.
My picture taking blows, so I have not put any pictures up, if you want to see them I can put up the crappy photos I have if you are interested. I have several prototypes (7 or 8) that have small problems, that I would like to get rid of - haven't thought of a price yet.
PM, and I will try to get some picts out.

A toothbrush holder I bought at the market, holds two straights nicely. Packed the bottom with tissue for cushion and to absorb any excess moisture. Don't use rubber-bands as the case won't allow the razors to open anyways.
Would love to see some of the handmade leather cases.

They also have slim cases for glasses that are sturdier than coffins. I use the metal DOVO box and it can easily fit even 2 razors, for those long trips.
