Thanked: 2209Yes, I have, repeatedly. You have now changed the texture of both the bevel and the edge so it will not have the same results on each test that you use. I seldom stop at 10 laps but rather 30-50 on the coticule. It really depends on the edge that you want. You have a lot of shave testing ahead of you before you can decide your preferences.

I guess that makes sense. All the stones are already put away but I think we are starting to get it again. Did 10 reps on the .5 paste, 10 on the .25, and a couple hundred reps on the newspaper. Next time I'll have to do more reps on the coticule I think.
I'm pretty much looking for zero drag so the sharper and smoother the better I think

I have had mixed experiences with passing the HHT off the coticule. Actually, I find that when a razor passes well it usually means I need to do more laps on the coticule. The coticule edge is either smooth enough or sharp enough that it tends to split and peel the hair rather than cutting it cleanly.
Try experimenting with using the coticule without slurry. The slurry edge isn't quite as sharp, in my experience. It polishes well but leaves a slightly duller edge, since it's taking off metal more quickly.
Last point: Sharper is a good goal, but don't let that keep you from experimenting with a range of edges. After a year of striving for ever sharper edges, I've found my comfort zone to be more in the 6K-8K range, as long as the edge is also super smooth.
Keep at it ,
