Man why would you want Barber spit along your nicely shaved face? Especially as some of it would be going into your pores much easier when you shave so close .

Thanked: 17FYI, it's called threading. My wife works in a spa and although she doesn' t know how to do it, she's familiar with it. I guess women use it on their eyebrows, etc. I imagine that they don't use spit though...lol.

Thanked: 0Threading
Let me try to explain it the best I can.
This is called threading. The "thread" is twisted on itself tightly a few times. When the opposite ends are pulled across one another in a cyclical fashion, hairs in its path are plucked right out from its roots .... painful but effective for small hair removal ... not a substitute for shaving.

Man those looked like some close shaves. Real close. Its cool to see people take such pride in what they do no matter what. Not sure about the String waxing though the concept makes sense.

I got a str8 shave in Turkey, and the barber burned the fine hairs from my ears with a Q-Tip soaked in alcohol. It was very effective and absolutely painless. BTW, the shave cost me $0.85 including tip, and included a cup of tea and a neck and head massage.
