Thanked: 10A nod and a tip of the hat to DZEC (Dave) for pointing me to a Canadian distributor where I managed to score these.
I went to Kent of Inglewood to be put on a waiting list for the Czeck & Speake 88. They are currently out of stock but I hit the 'notify me' when it's back in stock option so hoping it won't be too long a wait.

Thanked: 556Wow, you didn’t just pull the trigger, you got some of the best of the best.
I have the MDC and PannaCrema and am pretty sure you’ll really enjoy them. Been using both for over a year and haven’t made even a small dent in the contents. They appear expensive, but they last a long time.David

I feel like Bummerman. Not that I don't like the SOTD nor do I begrudge anyone using lots of soaps and fragrances and PS /AS potions. What I mean is I have been encouraged to post shaves and my answer is my shaves are just not very interesting. I posted my one and that about covers it. I use 1 of 2 brushes I have. I have 3 mugs but only 2 different soaps, one of which won't fit in a mug. I have 2 different strops and one old belt that was my Dad's. I use store brand rubbing alcohol and I don't care about scents, in fact I prefer no scent. Maybe I get it from my dad. He used a brush till it had hardly enough bristles to make lather. I only knew him to use 1 mug. He always used Williams regular shave soap. He only had 1 straight razor...now razors I differ from him on because I have just short of 150. But the gist is he just.stuck.with what he knew and didn't stray from it. I guess he just liked what he knew and I must be similar. I do like.seeing them though so keep it up

Thanked: 4826Well Paul, I used to feel that way too. Then I came to a point of enjoying sharing my shaves. My gear doesn’t change a lot and I don’t post the same picture for three shaves in a row, just when I swap my gear around. It’s more about wanting to share my great shave. It’s ok to look and not post.

Thanked: 10Hey Paul, it's only recently that I've had the resources to splurge a little. Some people golf, other's do a whole lot of other things. My goal was to have a seven day set of new razors and I have only just realized that goal. I have seven estate razors that I used for years and about a dozen sitting on my work bench to restore. Please don't feel discouraged about sharing your SOTD with the folks here.
I don't think there is a single member who would ever think your razors were dull or boring or bad mouth them. I used to be ashamed to post my little collection of razors because I used the same old same old day in and day out. I just got to the point where I said, hey man, these are my razors, and I enjoy the shaving experience with them and so I'm gonna post them. Again, without flogging a dead horse; I enjoy so much going through the SOTD threads. Every razor is fascinating at least to me.
Anyway, post away brother! Let's see those razors!
Spoken kindly and with the intention of encouraging you.

Thanks for all that guys. I'm not trying to pee on the picnic basket. Just sort of feel like my nickel isn't as shiny and I certainly don't have that many of them, at least in terms of paraphernalia besides razors. I guess I've been looking at the entire package and feeling like mine is not the matching set like so many of them I see. I enjoy seeing all of them I just think wow that sure blows mine out of the water. I do have some fairly nice razors though so maybe I should just concentrate on that.
Again thanks for the words of encouragement.Last edited by PaulFLUS; 03-10-2020 at 04:00 PM. Reason: Typo

Thanked: 556Saw your SOTD. TOBS Sandalwood is one of my very favourite shaving creams. Just finished a tub of it this past weekend. My wife loves the aroma in the bathroom whenI use it and I really enjoy the scent for the rest of the day. Nice skin feel during and after the shave as well.

Thanked: 3224It's about the shave and enjoying it not the gear.
I have been wet shaving, on and off, for 50 years and most of that time I used one brush, one razor, one soap/cream and one after shave. The last 10 years or so I got on the shave forums and expanded my horizons on knowledge and gear. My main take away is that can get just as good and satisfying shave with inexpensive gear as I can with the more expensive stuff. I could still get by quite nicely using just one of everything too.
Point is, just feel free to post your SOTD gear be damned.
