The inside of the mouth of my bottle is over a half inch wide. While I can just cover it with my thumb, the risk of slipping and losing liquid is too great.

This morning, I covered the opening with the palm of my hand and inverted and righted the bottle, leaving a acceptable amount of liquid on my hand. The only problem with this method is no real control with the amount dispensed.

I'm envisioning something from the old days where one would have to shake the bottle to get a few drops out. Remember Bugs Bunny shaking hair restorer onto Elmer head in the Barber of Seville cartoon?

You could try a restaurant style vinegar dispenser!

My idea is really more along the lines of the old Old Spice bottles - they had a very small opening that limited flow.

You could put some in a smaller bottle witha smaller opening and just use that. You can also get those blue glass bottles with the atomizer tops. QED carries them for not too much $$.

At a very cheap price: Try a straw (not to thin in diameter) hold it between thumb and middle finger and dip it into bottle, then put your index finger at the top of the straw... You have now filled it and can easily point the straw into palm and let go the index-finger... Cheap price solution! No Joke!

Or do like me and "waste" money buy an Atomizer like this... (or two)

Or if you have a antoehr product around that is nearly used up with the sort of stopper you want... finish it off and wash the bottle, most of the a/s splash bottles have removable plugs so you can easily fill the bottle and stick the plastic back in.

my travel bottle of dominica with lime was a TH West Indian Limes a/s (not balm) bottle. works a treat.
    Be just and fear not.

Almost every department store sells pump soap dispensers. You push down and a set amount comes out. Simple.
