    Cool

    We live Out, aka Rural

Way up in the skinny panhandle of North Idaho, about 30 miles from the Canadian Border, if you have heard of the Ruby Ridge Standoff we are one ridgeline south at the base of a snowy mountain..
Our closest neighbor is about 1/2 mile away, TC and Roy could tell you how quiet it is
We get SNOW a lot of snow, but weather here is pretty temperate and you can just about count on the season changing on the exact date marked on the Calendar .. They say it is because of the "Lake Effect" Lake Pend Orielle is just south of us and is one of the largest and deepest in the US.. Yes there really is a USN Sonar and Submarine testing station in our lake, has been since WW2
We are one of the unique areas in the US that has a Ski Mountain and a Lake within sight of each other, we can be on either within 30 minutes..
We have been up here for over 20 years, which is good because the prices have grown at a crazy rate since 2008 and I could never afford the place we have at these prices..
Life up here is laid back, but not easy, as each season changes there is always something to do or fix, Hunting and Fishing is pretty big up here too.. Myself I am not a "Big" fisherman, I have never had a rod on either boat we have owned, I do enjoy fly fishing on the streams and rivers on occasion.. When we lived in Colorado I was REALLY into hunting every season I could, up here it is not the same, but I go, just not as seriously .. I will buy a Bear tag because we have a problem one this year, and an Elk tag because I have a new rifle to play with...

Just a few pics to give you an idea of our boring life up here

I live in a small village, population 450, named Knapp, Wisconsin. This village is in a small valley surrounded by hills with trees of all kinds. There are 2 colors here, green in spring, summer, and fall, and nothing but white snow in the winter! We rarely get above 90 F. in the summer and the winters can be brutal for a period of about 1-2 weeks every year when the high temp is 0 F.
The village is surrounded by hills and valleys, and small farms. This house was built by my grandfather in 1963 from lumber he salvaged from the one-room schoolhouse his children attended. White oak for the basement joists and beams, shiplap siding, and maple floors from the school. It is small, 24x36, one bedroom, with a big deck.
Nice and quiet with good neighbors.
I used to say that I lived 3 miles west of randydance.

I had to change that to 50 miles.

I think they used to be called Queen Charlotte Islands, I might be wrong but I always thought Haida Gwaii was actually an archipelago.

I live just outside of Crackron, Ohio., I mean Akron. A suburb full of drug addicts, child molesters, shootings, and whatnot.

Just a typical town in the US, just not as hot as Houston.

Yea, and since they all carry two guns and an AR 15 it's more like 300,000 agents and IRS Agents are terrible shots so you all better watch out.
