Thanked: 4942Hi Guys,
This is the razor that Ray and I discussed for quite some time before its debut. We tried to get some kind of consensus on the board regarding what everyone wanted which proved to be quite difficult. With the information we did get together, Ray went to TI and on his own had this wonderful razor made. His only condition for sale was that it be offered only to members of SRP. Keep in mind that we were the first and only straight razor forum on the web for quite some time. There was an introductory price which was a little lower for pre-sale orders and Classic made the rest of the investment. I still have number 1. These are really a limited addition series TI and when gone, will not be repeated. They are great shavers to boot. Just thinking about this makes me miss talking to Ray all the time about straight razors, honing and life in general. He was a great friend.
Don't know if this helps.
Have fun,
Lynn

Thanks for the background info Lynn . My razor was "shave ready" right out of the box . I gave it a good stropping and shaved with it this morning , and it passed my shave test with flying colors ! Many thanks to you and Ray , for making this fine razor available .

Mine just arrived, #160!
De-oiled and gently on the strop. Lynn honed it and it looks great. Can't wait to try it tomorrow.

Thanked: 0Damn it .... I'd kept my buying impulses under control for so long...I'm going to have to go sit in a dark room now before I blow more cash on
"More stuff that you don't actually need!!!!!!"
Well I think that's the phrase that gets yelled at me....

I got mine from CS some time ago (almost a year now?) and had it sent to Lynn. It provides a very smooth shave but I have noticed that it tends to 'jump' over over face. Now, I'm not that new to straights, it is honed quite well and I've touched it up a few times on my pasted strops as well, but it doesn't quite feel like my old razors do. I'm not saying the old razors are better - it just feels noticeably different. Anyone else experienced this?
I have to say though, this razor is way better than my original Dovo SS.

Thanked: 335A good sense of rhythm being necessary for any decent "singing" razor, it should be expected that the razor will move with the music.

I have noticed a different "feel" between the era's of steel. I still don't have the Clark & Hall up and running yet, but my other early 1800's feel different than my late 1800/1900 blades, and my new TI SRP LE. I'm sure it has to do with way to many facters to consider and I'm doing enough experiments that I don't need yet another one
I also notice this SRP TI seems to want to be honed a touch more than the older ones (or someone is goofing with it /grrr)
My SRP TI shaves fantasticly, I love it.
