Default keeping my shavers in bathroom

I have taken to storing my 5 shavers in the bathroom in a mug. I am the only one who uses the bathroom so it does not see alot of steam. I keep the razors on the counter and wipe them and alcohol them after use. I also keep the door open during a shower and there is hardly any steam build up on the mirror. I like this method as I like being able to see the razors do you think they will rust? I keep them oiled as well.

That all depends on your climate, IE humidity. If you keep them oiled and don't let them sit for LONG periods of time without checking them... You should be ok... maybe...

I keep mine in a simular fassion and I have no rust. It's only been 6 months that I have been at this so I'm still "New" to razors. My carbon kitchen knives don't seem to rust at all and it's been 2 years in this Apt. While thats not the bathroom, the kitchen sees more use and humidity...

Just keep an eye on them...

Yes , I also think your razors will be okay , as long as you're using them and keeping an eye on them .

    Matt,

I think I'd be more worried about that entire mug falling on the floor...

Sorry, couldn't resist. I'm a little punchy this morning...

    Excellent question....

BUT, why keep them ALL in the bathroom? (all eggs, one basket)

In the event there is Rust, they will all be hit. Plus, what if one day you accidentally knock that cup over. Blades a bound! And what are the chances just one of the blades gets damaged.

    Just thinkin'

I keep all of my razors on a shelf in our office, which is a
very low-traffic area and obviously not humid. I live in a
very dry city (Calgary), and I've never had to worry about
    corrosion, which is nice!

Matt I do the same thing...they are all sitting on my counter in my bathroom however, I'm thinking of picking up a used/empty cigar box and keeping them in there. I figure that the cedar should help keep them from getting too out of hand in the rust department. Besides, between a cigar box or a mug...I figure that the box looks cooler.

I keep mine in the bathroom also. I keep them however in a wooden cigar box this helps as cigars need to be kept in a similar condition.

Default Another vote that it's no problem

I keep the daily shavers less than 1 foot from the shower in a tiny, steamy bathroom (the shower is just to the right in the attached photo).

Not a spot of rust on any of the three, and two are carbon steel w/wood scales and kept there since 1997. Both wood scales are still like new. I think as long as you're using them it's no big deal where they're stored.

Im thinking of going for a TI stainless steel for this very reason. A little harder to hone but holds a nice edge longer.
