would make sence to have then all the same in style, weight, grind. It would be like shaving with the same razor daily you could get your control down to a fine art. not having to adjust to a different razor all the time. You would know after a while right where the point, heal etc was all the time without thinking after a short while

I'm surprised some of you old "codgers" didn't pick up on this........ I DID !....and maybe there's something to it !..............

    I'm a pipe smoker.........and a pipe collector !

Smoking pipes came in "7 day" sets back in the "old days"........the reason being that a pipe (after being smoked for a day) should "rest" before being taken up again, so that it might "dry out".......thus, a pipe for each day !

I don't know if this has ANY bearing what-so-ever on razors.......but when I heard: "7-day set".....that is what popped into my mind !

    MARKO....

There was an old "myrh" "fact" that a razor should rest a day between shaves.

I have always wanted to put the value of straight razors in perspective to better understand costs relative to their original market. Original prices on many seem so inexpensive now...almost as if some were considered nearly disposable rather than revered objects. I know that incomes were also relative, but we sure have a lot of razors around....

    Thank Goodness!

That thought had not occured to me. It makes sence though. I may have to re-trace my steps and do some haggling. Last I remember they were in pretty good shape.

So if I get a bunch of the same razor of fleabay, and do some custom scales and make a 7 day set... does that make me a "rich" person?

Indeed, it's widely accepted among pipe-smokers and I would think that what Timeo Danaos states bears some truth. That along with that it DOES look very classy
