He states that it is from your guide, but it makes the rest of his garbage look credible.

here is a quote of his comment, it can be found at the bottom of his instructible.
no, i actually don't shave with a straight razor. i spent this whole time developing a tutorial to provide people with misinformation about the process. i actually use a mach 3. i would never shave with a straight razor, they are dangerous, out-dated and modern razors are far superior. can i ask you one question,
do you discourage beginners from honing their own straight razors? and if so, are you affiliated with a website that provides this service for honing razors for a beginner? and if the answer is yes, will you do that service for free or will the fee be substantial?
some of the criticism comes out of greed. the experts who own straight razor websites want you to send your blades to them so that they can sharpen your blade for a fee that may be a bit expensive. you can do this yourselves with a new razor. people are now telling me to purchase multiply stones. why? i shave just fine with the stone i used. all of the tutorial videos incorporated the norton waterstone i advised. how am i wrong? i never claimed to be an enthusiast, i know there is a whole community out there who knows a billions time more than i do on the subject. but i've been able to persever with my methods. maybe they are not perfect, but if my sharpening was so crappy, then how the hell am i able to pass the hanging hair tests, time and time again. people on the expert sites want to tear this tutorial down. they are frightened by the information, which is understandable, but at least tell me what you are frightened about and i may or may not change the content. this depends if i agree or disagree. everyone has an opinion on the subject, and if you call me out on something then i will change it. but as of now, tell me what is so wrong. watch videos on stropping and they will do exactly what i have shown. the critics are great at being critical, yet, Mr. Razors Edge, what exactly was constructive about your comment? i seem to have missed it. please, as i said time and time again. if i'm incorrect about something, correct me. but don't leave a comment with no direction. how does that aid anyone? furthermore, people are talking about a need for greater grits than 8000K? where does it stop? at a 20,000 grit, a 50,000 grit?
vintage blades describes the 4000/8000k grit norton waterstone as follows.
*** For you straight razor users, please note that this is the perfect stone for you. The 8000 Grit will hone your edge to give you a shave you will not believe. The 4000 Grit is a handy back-up when needed, or to be used to recondition some of your vintage blades.
i love these guy's who keep telling me i have a lot of misinformation but will not give me specific examples of what is wrong. some things may just be a difference of opinion. you experts out there must be thrilled to point out my shortcomings.
yet, these are the same experts who will not put up their own tutorial on the matter to combat mine. very sad, very sad indeed.

I still think we should put our heads together and post a series of "instructables" on honing shaving and selecting razors.
If we do this it will hopefully fill the void, and possibly repair some of the damage done by this.
How about doing a verbatim authorized copy of "The Art of the Straight Razor Shave - A Basic Guide"
and breaking it down by chapter on this instructibles site?

Thanked: 11A fact that will no doubt fuel his ire and (to his eyes) vindicate any act of "revenge" on his part, no matter how great or small.
That being said, I'm all for copyright holders protecting their IP, so it's good to hear that your protests were heard. I've read your document, and it was the one document that put together all the bits and pieces I had floating around in my head regarding straight razor shaving. Just wanted to let you know, now that I have you here "in the pixel", as it were.
