I've tried the HHT on a "shave-ready' Wapi, a self honed Wapi, and on a brand new DOVO DE blade, and I can't get it to work on either blade. I'm not sure how much this test is worth.
I still have to try a "shave-ready" DOVO that I just got, and I'll update this post

triple bypass, nipple bypass, same thing.

i use chest hairs also, you must have some thick man hair up there.

I have to disagree. Whenever I hone and want to try a HHT i usually use Chest Hairs. There are always a few hairs that are willing to fall into my hand when I do a gentle pull.

They have never been bad for my blade.

    Default ATTENTION ALL GIRLY-MEN!

    Wow.

So many doubters out there. Now then, if I were going to make up a story for the heck of it, don't you think I'd make it a bit more exotic than "Hey guys my chest hair is so tough that....."?

    I'm just saying what happened.

The hair did not cut at all, as the many many arm hairs that had split so easiliy with this very same edge just minutes before. So, I grab the end of the hair, so as to provide some tension to be able to cleave it off.....no dice, the blade just saws back and forth to no avail...
The blade is/was not overhoned, as mentioned above it was slicing and dicing the normal HHT test like a champ just prior to going to the chest hair of doom. I don't think I would have done any damage if I had kept it as a hanging hair test. But since I grabbed the free end, and then pulled it taught and then proceeded to saw away at it is where I went awry.

If any of you would like to repeat my experiment on a freshly honed razor of your own, send me a self-addressed. stamped envelope and I will gladly take out some tin snips and cleave of a few of my chest hairs to send your way and see what you think of it!

The experiment will only be worthwhile if you are attached to the hair, friend! But if I can melt your hair and sell it as scrap metal, I may take you up on your offer anyway

You should have left it as "attacked" the hair!

I don't think anyone is trying to accuse you of making up a story I believe that is what happened but all I can say is you must be taking a lot of iron supplements or something as there are many of us the use chest hair for the HHT that said it could also have been the sawing part that did it. Either way HHT is not always a good way to go as I think I said earlier I can't get a hair to pop right of the hone to save my sole but as soon as it comes off the strop it will do it every time. Also a wet hair cuts easier than a dry hair so that may be part of it as well. Happy shaving.

Well, I hate to admit this but I was testing my razor on my ankle hair a few minutes ago and looked at the edge just now and found several small oddly shaped nicklike indentions on my previously perfectly straight edge. I immediately remembered this thread.

    when will I learn

[Edit]Update: I dropped to 180 grit to get rid of those nicks. They must have already been there and I just hadn't noticed. Or maybe that's just the metal growing back to its naturally porous state Seraphim knows all

I don't hone, but I do strop on my chest. Well, I start on the chest and finish on the back.

you know, I had the same thing happen with my hair down under- stiff as a copper wire!
I think we might have a gender specific project here.
