The first time I saw a poll like this http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...-you-have.html, I didn't own a razor. Later I came back and voted (1).

Of course then I had to find another poll after a period of time http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...o-you-own.html so I could update my data.

And now of course I have more razors than I need, which is exactly what I didn't think I would ever do.

I have not counted recently. Maybe there should be a differentiation between the number of straights owned that are NOT shave ready (in need of resto, etc) vs. razors that are shave ready.

Shave ready razors in rotation for me right now is pretty small. I'm down to three (I have a handful that need touching up that I won't shave with anymore until I do).

Razors in need of resto of some form or another: around 40?

Well, you know, you just end up with whatever you end up with.... After the initial flurry I found things died down a bit, and now I'll pick up maybe 2-3 every few months, but only if they are in good condition, and very rarely from ebay.

There is a "cure" for RAD - Japanese natural HAD. Basically you have no money left to buy straights with once you get this one.

I started with one... Last sunday (bloody sunday...) I bought 2 more. Oh joy, oh joy! They came yesterday! If only Xmas was this happy! I have to let my family and friends know what I want! I sometimes dream that my mother or father or whoever gives me a nice shave-ready 7 day set in a nice wooden box... maybe a TI 7 day set or a Dovo 7 day set... wooden box is optional, ok. really I have RAD infested dreams. My girlfriend (hopefully - though herself RAD infested... but under control because she doesn't shave...) keeps my RAD under control. How? She has a credit card and I don't!

Oh man who had to mention Restores in the drawer
I am still holding at 52 shave ready razors including the 20 in the DD and Shumate Collection that don't really get used all that much...
Now in the soon to be restored??? well hell I don't rightly know for sure 15-20 maybe..

But I don't feel bad after seeing just part of Tim's (oldblades) collection at the NC Meet he has RAD worse than mine

Only reason I'm in the 2-5 category is because I've only been at it a week.

    Default The Poll is FIXED!!!!

I'm going with secret option H, "plenty, but I'm not slowing down." I like to hunt for mismarked e-bay specials that are listed based on box inscriptions, etc. I shop on a budget, but still buy 2-3 a month and see no sign of stopping. As far as shave-ready, isn't that really the original intent? I buy them to hone them and then I become infected with other A D's trying to fix them up. I guess that's why it's called a hobby..?

I didn't know there was such a thing as RAD!!! At least that's what Lynn told me.
