In France, I have a program from my bank that generate a one time useable credit card number. After it's used, it's over.
Very practical, but doesn't work with paypal: you need to change the number each time (as you were giving a new credit card number), but after 10 or 20 times, your paypal account is blocked: they think it's not normal to have such an amount of CC. It happened to me, and I had really much problem to let my account open again.

I'll ask around for the single use card number.

    Meanwhile, what about this?

Ahhh Western Union! I used to be a seller on E-Bay and they DO NOT endorse the use of Western Union. They claimed it's unsafe and there were payment tracking issues at the time. I could never make my mind up if they were genuinely dodgy or if E-Bay just wanted everyone to use Paypal which is run by the same company.

I have used a CC online for many years, not always through Paypal either and I've never had a bad experience, or had any of my details ripped. We now have a Pre-pay CC which works just as well but at least you can only spend what you have!

IMO's (International Money Orders) are just too much hassle and the charges too high for most people to bother with.

And how would there be any guarantee about the amount you sent?
If the seller say you only sent X, while you are convinced you sent Y, you have no leg to stand on.

It would be the desicion of the seller, but most guys here have said Paypal.......... The only thing you can do is approach the seller to see if other payment methods could or would be accepted.

Western Union is fine between people who know each other, but is not a safe way to deal with strangers. In fact, one of the easiest ways to spot a fraudulent seller on eBay is that he'll insist on payment by Western Union.

Only use it if you know and trust the recipient.

On the other side, what if I pay someone on the BST with paypal, and he said he has received nothing... OK, my paypal account shows I have, but then...?

PayPal can and will verify that the seller received the money.

    +1

The seller cannot deny that he got the money.
