Default I dont have paypal... how to buy

I didn't know where to put this topic so here it goes.

How can I buy something if I dont have paypal and I really dislike giving my credit card number. Let's say classicshaving and the like... Is there some way I can pay in cash at the post office and they send the money to the dealer?

    Thanks!

seeing that you are in croatia it may be even more difficult.
some merchants may accept money order and cashiers checks, but then you have to be able to purchase such an instrument in your country and then mail it. you will certainly pay some overhead (I would imagine in the $20-$50 range) even if it's possible.
the easiest would seem to open a paypal account.

Yeah, if you're looking to trade on here, you really would need to open a paypal account.

Banks, even in Croatia, have corresponding banks in other countries. If you wanted to buy something in the United States, for example, you could go to your bank and buy a cashiers check in US dollars on a New York bank, which you would then mail to complete the order. This is how every business that imports goods from another country operates.

Yes, but for small amounts that costs more than what you are buying.
At one point I had a signed checque from France, for 80 euros.
When I tried cashing it I found out that I would get as much as 10 euros after a LOT of paperwork going back and forth, so I just tore it up because my time is worthmore than that.

At another time I needed to send a cheque to the US for something for 50$, and that cost more than 50$. And it took a lot of time (weeks) before the cheque was ready to be sent.

These kind of transactions are a logical choice if you have to do them on a regular basis, and you're talking about a lot of money. For 100 measly$ you really don't want to do this.
Most credit card companies or banks have something that lets you generate CC numbers for 1 time use for a certain amount. That could solve the problem of the OP.

But if you want to buy or sell on this site, you'd better open a pp account because that is what everybody here uses.

You might be able to do a wire transfer between banks if your dealing with a vendor that accepts them. The down side would be the fees but its the most reliable way to send cash.

What about cash sent via insured and tracked post? It has to be signed for by the recipient. I've paid this way quite a few times and accepted payment lots of times without mishap.

Thats the only method that comes to my mind, but more of a method of paying on the BST forum, not internet stores.
Maybe I could send the cash+ a little bonus to a forum member and they order by paypal to my address.
But than there is the risk of the member keeping my money. I'd have to find a respectable guy.

Setting up a paypal account if a very quick process. You can link it to your credit card rather than your bank account. If you are concerned about your CC getting 'abused' in some way, it would be worthwhile to get a second card to use for online purchases. If you think that you will never order more than, say $300, just ask to have the credit limit set to that amount.

    Cheers,

    Rick
