Stopped at the Art of Shaving and spoke with their barber, David Mancuso, for a while. He saw me looking at their TI razors and started the "To achieve the perfect shave..." spiel -- I politely interrupted him before he got into it to tell him that I've been wet/straight shaving for a few months now. We had a good chat for 15 minutes or so and he was very polite. I might get a shave there but have read mixed reviews about it on here. If I go ahead with it then I will post a review -- but man was I bummed about T&H.

According to Mantic, they're moving to the Mirage, not closing for good. So There's still hope.

Ok Guys, here's the scoop from Vegas.

T&H's lease was up at the Caesars. Last I heard they are looking to relocate in one of the main casinos. In the meantime they are located at the Mirage where their barbers are working and where you can get a shave until they find a new final locaion.

Dagummit! Well thanks for the clarification. I had limited 'net access so I didn't really follow the thread after I posted. I just found T&H in the directory, walked to the location and was a bit surprised when I opened the door to an empty shop filled with construction workers. There was a concierge assigned to the shops at Caesars which is who I spoke with -- I specifically asked if T&H was just moving but he seemed to think they closed shop for good (granted he probably only cares about shops at Caesars).

Oh well. I skipped on the AOS shave. I figured I could wait an extra 36 hours. I have a DD Dwarf that just came back from Glen so there's a happy ending to this story.

I had written to Truefitt & Hill through their forums asking how to become a T&H barber. The forum admin instructed me to call 800-236-8089. When I called the number a young lady (perhaps Nicky?) informed me that the Vegas shops had closed and then gave me the number to the Chicago barbers shop. When I posted this piece of info on the T&H forum the admin responded saying there are actually 4 shops in Vegas. So now I'm really confused. Are the Vegas locations still in open or not? If any of you guys that travel to Vegas has an update please post it.

Don't worry, I'm just messin' with you. I have no idea what's going on in the Emerald City...I mean, uh, Sin City....sorry...Las Vegas. I just thought it'd be funny, since that was your first inquiry on this forum, to greet you like that! 'Cause that's what they did to Dorothy.

Are you really a barber looking for work, or are you just interested in becoming one down the road? The figurative road, not the Yellow Brick Road.

HeHe...nice to see the Lollipop Guild is still in business even if Truefitt&Hill/Vegas is not. Thanks for the welcome.

I am a barber student looking to the future. If I'm going to be in the barber business I want to be the best and work with/for the best. From what I've taken from this and other shaving and barber forums it seems T&H is the best. So that's where I'm attempting to direct my career.

That is unless the flying monkeys tear me apart before I get there.

I was actually in Vegas about a year ago. I was in the shops at Ceasar's palace. I was still shaving with a mach 3 and canned goo at the time and had no knowledge of any other way. I walked right by this store. Sad story.

Just to throw this out there for anybody who finds this thread on their way to Vegas...

The apothecary at the Wynn not only carries most of the T&H line, but is also one of the only Penhaligon's retailers in the west. Good people working there too, and the manager is pretty generous with samples.

I'm not sure where T&H will land/(has landed?), but this is a fun option to check out if you're in Vegas and in a shave-shopping mood.

I spoke with T&H today and was told that Nicky and her Husband Noe (sp?), formerly of T&H in LV, are now operating in the Mirage under a different name. The T&H store is closed. I will be in LV next week and will check it out.
