My visit to Truefitt and Hill, Las Vegas
I just spent the week in Las Vegas on business and I decided that I wanted to get a shave. I knew that there were at least two high end locations for a shave, Art of Shaving (AOS) and Truefitt and Hill (T&H).
I decided to make an appointment at Truefitt and Hill because I have heard some negative comments regarding AOS's attitude towards customers.
I arrived at T&H and was greeted by Nicky, the woman who was going to shave my face. Nicky explained to me in steps what she was going to do.
I reclined into the barber chair and Nicky applied the first of three hot towels to my face. In between the first two towels, T&H's preshave oil was massaged into my face. After the second towel, hot lather T&H unscented shave creme) was applied by hand, no shaving brush ever touched my face. Nicky then proceeded to shave me using a Dovo shavette. Nicky spent more time on my face than I have ever spent on it myself. Nicky gave my face two passes and several touch ups in my "problem areas" (just under my jawline at the back). Then another hot towel, followed by an ice cold towel, finished up with some T&H "Freshman" aftershave balm. Nicky then trimmed my mustache and shaved the back of my neck. The whole experience was rather relaxing with original tracks from Nat King Cole and Sinatra playing in the background.
During my shave I talked with Nicky about her tenure with T&H (a little over three years) and she told me that she really liked working for T&H. I told her that I belonged to this forum and explained my "enthusiasm" with straight razor shaving. Nicky seemed sincerely interested. When all was said and done Nicky asked how her shave compared to mine and I told her it was the best gave I ever had, and it really was.
With the shave, T&H offered me a 10% discount towards any product purchase and I elected to just buy a tub of their unscented shave cream (Vegas wasn't very forgiving to me wallet-wise).
I took the liberty of taking some photos, here they are and boy that shop is small...
All in all, my Truefitt and Hill experience was all I hoped it would be, and I went home a little more poorer, but very satisfied and with a BBS shave. I highly recommend Truefitt and Hill at Caesars' Forum Shops.Last edited by gatorfan; 07-26-2008 at 03:57 AM.

My Vegas "Billfest" starts at T&H for a shave, then breakfast, cigars at Casa Fuente and then a short nap. After that, the rest of the day is all good...even if I'm losing at the tables.

Truefitt & Hill is no longer in Vegas
In Vegas now. Wanted to revive this thread to note that the T&H shop is closed. I initially thought that maybe it was just for the day as it was late when I stopped by and the doors were locked. Went back the next day to find a bunch of construction workers taking down everything. Asked a nearby concierge if they were moving locations or closed for good and he said that they were closed as far as he knew. DOH!
Was really looking forward to going there for some samples and a good shave. Didn't check my luggage so no straight for me this week. Stopped at the Art of Shaving and spoke with their barber, David Mancuso, for a while. He saw me looking at their TI razors and started the "To achieve the perfect shave..." spiel -- I politely interrupted him before he got into it to tell him that I've been wet/straight shaving for a few months now. We had a good chat for 15 minutes or so and he was very polite. I might get a shave there but have read mixed reviews about it on here. If I go ahead with it then I will post a review -- but man was I bummed about T&H.
