I am the only one right now that uses a str8 on a regular basis. My 14 yr old son recently started shaving and I got him started with a DE that he really likes. He is starting with the str8's on his side burns but hasn't gotten past them yet. My lady occasionally gives me a shave with the str8 but usually has me finish when she get's to my chin. She's too concerned about cutting me. What they heck, it's only blood. She uses a DE to shave most of the time, but she is thinking about trying a Str8 one of these days when she has the time.(and the courage)

I get many different reactions. Most are the "you have got to be kidding me" variety. My barber thinks it's great and I have taken a few in with me when I get my hair cut and they have tried a few out. They like the way I hone the blades and have given me a few pointers.

Do you get the same reactions? Are you the only one in your family with this addiction?
I get the same reaction when I mention I am going to my neighborhood antique dealers to look for razors

    Smile Shave Outdoors

If the bathroom is busy and cannot tolerate a good straight razor shave, then SHAVE OUTDOORS! I do it as many times as possible. I prefer shave just as the morning light is full. What a grand feeling upon finish. "King of the World" stuff, to say the least! It is no great problem: I attached a small shelf onto my garage and used some old things found around the house to make a shaving den. The extra brush is a worn-out veteran and the mirror is a garage sale item. If no water is available, use a bucketfull (rainwater preferred) and pour what is left onto the plants. Nothing fancy. Give it a try. Everyone will be happy for it.
