    Default Doh....First accident

Ok, this is my first stupid accident with a razor in two years - I was holding a box full of razors in one hand checking which were restored and sorting them when I dropped the one I was holding as I closed it.
Not wanting to drop the box I couldn't move my hand fast enough and the point landed right in the ball of my thumb and dug in about 5mm. The pic looks like a flap of skin but unfortunately it was straight in. Now my thumb is throbbing!

It is however much less painful than when I nearly chopped the tip of my thumb off with the dremel cutting wheel! I guess it was shave ready.

Yikes. That's just the blade giving you a 'gentle' reminder of its power.

Well I've been shaving since Jan this year and have always treated my babies with the respect they dutifully deserve. I've read the advice given in numerous threads and taken on board the experiences of others.

One piece of advice that I have generally followed is "Concentrate and don't rush"....... Well I forgot those words to my peril this evening.

With dinner guests arriving within the next half hour and the food cooking in the oven and me looking like Grizzly Adams, I decided to have a shave.. Doh..

Ooh the claret, no pain involved, you just know when you feel that steel slice cleanly through the skin instead of the stubble that theres gonna be blood!

Bulldog, from now on no claret until after the shave! Alls well that heals well!

    Talking

I had loads of Claret AFTER. Well at least it gave me something to talk about at dinner and got me on to the subject of straight shaving and showing of my collection. The picture doesnt show the true horror of the slice..... The cut under the lip is the 2nd cut (Whilst fretting about the 1st one) The main cut is the nice bacon slice cut on my cheek which took of about 2mm of skin over a 2cm square area....

I think I must have been pretending to be a plastic surgeon carrying out skin grafts !!! Didnt hurt though..

How is it that you seem to slice yourself the worst when you have something to do or someplace to go.

I think it's because you are rushing in those instances.
