I had it, lost it... Now may have it again. Request for shipping relay volunteer.
So I was able to snag myself a very nice looking DD goldedge on the bay for a measly 61 bucks. "Great" I'm thinking "nice grab", only to get a message from the seller a short while later stating that she doesn't sell out of the U.S. (although she made no mention of that in the description) and she's going to offer it to the next highest bidder
I guess some people prefer to avoid shipping internationally, but it's not like I'm in Zaire. I'm in friggin' Canada... I'm right upstairs! I haven't heard from the bay about a purchase cancellation, but I'm assuming I will soon enough. Oh well... easy come, easy go. Right? Man... even the original box was in great shape.
Here's a pic of my little duck that wasn't:Last edited by OLD_SCHOOL; 11-29-2008 at 06:45 PM. Reason: Title change as per OP request.

I'm with OS on this one. I think that's a good deal and you shouldn't let it go without a fight. I wouldn't. Also, shipping it to someone in the US first is a great idea. She should have nothing to complain about then.

My mistake. Although it doesn't say anything in the description about U.S. only sales, there's no international shipping option down in the shipping details at the bottom of the page. Usually in that case it says "contact the seller for international selling details" and I guess I got excited and assumed it would be there. Her reasoning is that she doesn't like "dealing with the hassle of international shipping". I just shipped 2 razors to Brazil and I really didn't think it was that much of a hassle.
Oh well, there are plenty of ducks in the lake.

For 61 bucks, I'd fight for it , have her send it to me and I'll relay to you. It'll cost a little more but oh well!

I hate to be a pest but that's a nice duck at a pretty good price, so I think I might try to get it from her anyway. By her very curt emails she doesn't sound terribly friendly, so I think charming her is out of the question. She says things like "one must" instead of "you should", like some nasty old schoolmarm. Sometimes charm is the way to go with people like that, but it can backfire on you badly if you don't play your cards right. I'll do what I can to keep it, but in the end I guess it'll be eBay's decision.
*edit* Thanks Nun2 that's very cool of you, if it comes down to something like that I might take you up on your offer. Or if there's anyone else that's closer to Ontario, Canada who is willing to be a relay I'd really appreciate it.Last edited by stolenmirth; 11-29-2008 at 05:57 PM. Reason: addition

Well I've sent her a message about the relay idea, I'm just waiting back to hear from her. You guys will be the first to know. Thanks for the support. I wasn't overly concerned about this in the beginning and probably would have just let it slide, but now y'all got me riled up!
