I went to hobby lobby and found a shadow box on clearence for $8. it was full of seashells and stuff, I took the brackets off (that held the glass in place) removed the junk, sanded a little, installed hinges on the back and hola ! a Razor case




it even has a drawer !! I have some more photos my Razor Case

I have one of these for my pens, and they would work well with razors, too.

You would be OK with camellia oil (aka teatree oil) - you don't have to wash it off before shaving. The blurb says it has some of the same properties as natural skin oil. Some expensive perfumes are also made with it. It is often a bit thick though, and some sources (the ones that dont say 100% camellia oil) are adulterated with other oils, so beware what you buy. The thickness can be knocked-back a bit with alcohol, though - isopropyl will do if you can't find anything else, and Everclear is good to drink as well!).

Ballistol is a great oil - thin, pentrating, skin friendly, environment friendly and greatly pentrating: ie it 'creeps' a long way. smells a bit funky to some people though.

Renaissance Wax is great - polishes out clear and is used by museums and heritage places as well as for metal street monuments, suits of armour, etc etc. A couple or three coats ensures no moisture pentration.

The above can help out with or without a glass enclosure. Without the glass enclosure, you open up your options a bit.
