Hopefully they were insured. I just sent a W&B to gssixgun to clean up and hone, I made sure it was insured for 100. Don't give up though, they might just find them.

the one I bought hadn't shown up after 30 days, I got paid back. but i'm guessing it never showed up, it was supposed to go straight to Max, he hasn't seen it. the seller hasn't contacted me and I told him I'd still buy it if it ever came back.

priority mail has been flying though, super fast.

It was insured for $200 but isn't it the shipper who would get that money if it was permanently lost? or are the rules on usps shipping insurance different through ebay?

You pay for insurance through the sellers ebay invoice if you have that option. It's still the ebay seller that prints out the shipping label so its also his responsibility to take care of any insurance claims if it does not get to you or is lost for some reason. You would get refunded by the seller if that's the case when he or she sees fit. Some are very correct, some will take their time.

With priority and first class chances are it will eventually show up. At least there's some kind of tracking. With Red's razor it appeared the seller had send his razor out parcel. No tracking and the lowest priority for USPS. That's plain dumb imo. Off course Red had no clue the seller would ship parcel post. The seller was trying to save a few cents. At least Red was smart to opt for insurance. That's plain smart.

USPS Insurance is worthless. USPS has to be sued just to collect on the insurance. It is not easy to win a civil suit against the government. I speak from experience. Use UPS or Fedex instead.

They have their issues too. I packaged up some glassware and some soaps/shampoo in a new box, bubble wrap, styrofoam, etc, and shipped up to Mn with UPS. It made it to the distant end, but not in the box that I shipped it in. Somewhere along t he way the box was dropped, kicked, and who else knows what. UPS opened the box, took the broken parts out, put the unbroken stuff in another box, and then taped it back up and shipped the packages along. What I got on the other end was a box full of broken items and what was left of my original items, along with a note that they had opened it up because the box was leaking. Prior to shipping, I put all liquids in plastic bags etc, so the impact that caused them to spill was signifigant.

I have been trying to settle that insurance claim for 8 months.

I think you may just have to buy another razor (before the first one finds its way to your house - in fact, act quickly so the first one doesn't arrive before you start collecting).

I had one that took two weeks to go from Cal to Mass and back to Call, then another week to come back to Mass, but it did get here.
