Thanked: 77Checking IP address could be easily circumvented. Unless you have a static IP address from your ISP it could change everytime you reboot your modem or leave it off for a while. If you use an anonymous browsing program/service your IP address could be changing constantly. Perhaps requiring some minimum post count (5 or 10?) and checking the winner's IP address would be sufficient.
Nothing's bullet proof but you only need prevention measures scaled to the effort/reward. The prizes are significant but you have to reduce their value by the probability of winning. Just opening a bunch of shill accounts and entering would probably be worth it to increase your chances of winning. Opening a bunch of shill accounts, and making some number of posts in each, and randomizing your IP, and entering would probably not be worth the increase in your probability of winning.

Quick,
You are exactly right about the changing IP's and I have no idea on how to prevent that type of thing. The odds of winning are fairly high depending on how many sign up but still............. Some that I have checked have several IP's that are listed by their name so ???????????????
Cheers,
Billif anything has been abnormal for a long enough period it then becomes normal.
