How about a forum for "Razor Repair/Restoration"
I recently acquired a semi-junk str8 to practice some restoration techniques on. It occurs to me it could be useful for us to have a specific forum for discussion of "Razor Repair/Restoration" topics so we don't clutter up the "General" forum? What's everyone else think :?:

Thanked: 0Sounds like a good idea, as I just posted this question here not too long ago.
Might as well have some sort of regular discussion going on about it, as it seems to be the cheapest way to get a straight razor.

Thanked: 2209I like the idea of a seperate forum for restoration as well.
Restoration is an interesting and rewarding activity! There are also many ways to skin that cat.
Until it is created may I suggest you go over to the Yahoo SRP website and download the SRP Index. It is a spreadsheet that is divided into sections. One is for restoration. It lists those messages that have dealt with that subject in the past. The first 30,000 posts to the SRP forum are classified in that spreadsheet. It is quite the resource.
Hope this helps,Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin

Randy is correct that the Yahoo SRP archive index can be very useful and there certainly is a wealth of information summarized therein. I've certainly found it useful in gathering information and planning my first restoration (coupled with Bill's CD, of course).

I closed my eyes and made a wish to the Forum Faerie, so a separate forum ought to be here soon, LOL

I like the idea as well. I posted the suggestion /request to the administration several weeks ago.
