My girlfriend must think I'm a straight razor junkie...
Lol, I figured I would share this with everyone to see what their other half thinks about you and SRP. Every time I even walk in the direction of our home office she says, love you honey, have fun looking at straight razor stuff...I can't help but laugh. She has no interest what so ever in all of this but she is amazing. Just funny that she assumes I'm only going to get on here if I'm on the computer. Wonder where that idea came from? Who else experiences this? Jeremy-

me too
My wife is always making fun of me for being on SRP and spending too much time looking at shaving/stropping/honing videos and trying to learn the art. But then I just point out the amount of time she spends on clothing and jewlery websites, and then we are all even, haha. She was really on my back this weekend when I spent half of my time making a wooden box to store all my razors. I think that she thinks I have gone over the edge. But little does she know, I have always been over the edge. At leasat I don't have to hide it.

lol my gf does the same thing. She really has no interest in straight shaving but she likes the after effects. She knows when I'm on the computer if I'm not watching videos i'm in the #srp channel and on the website or surfing ebay for razors lol.

Thanked: 74I get the same thing. Although she isn't as concerned about the time spent online. I do most of that while I am at my day job.
I think the part that is beginning to bother her is the amount of time I spend working on razors and scales in the restoration den, honing razors in the kitchen, ogling the razors in 'my' bathroom, stropping, shaving, and the time talking about how this specific shave was different/better/worse than the last one.
Watch the ebay trolling though. I have been warned a couple of times.

Thanked: 2At first my girlfriend was a bit creeped out (probably because I'm a big Sweeney Todd fan and the first razor I bought was a imitation Sweeney razor), but now she's gotten used to the razors (I have a bigger collection now) and thinks it's kinda neat.

Mine too. She calls my razors, "Crazy Razors" or You and your crazy razors. She does think I spend too much money on my hobby, and she'd be right. Whenever I get a box in the mail, no matter what it is, I tell her it's "Soap". Somehow, Someway, razors keep magically reproducing in the bathroom. I've taken over the walk in closet. It looks like a shaving supply house.
I have enough soaps and shave creams to shave everyone in Texas. I have HAD, RAD and SAD, (soap or shave cream acquisition disorder) I guess the AD's could apply to Strops, or Mugs and scuttle too, why not. She knows if I'm on the computer, it's some how related to shaving. She's just as bad, but she's into plants and gardening, which is cool. It makes the house and property look nice, not to mention fresh veggies.....We have assumed control !

I am often on the laptop while "watching" TV with SWMBO. She will often look at me and ask "how are things with the razor geeks?" then turn back to the TV.
