Is this straight a ladies?
I have a 150 Heartring made by H.EICKER & SOHNE. This razor is very small. It's the same length over all as King Cutter but a little less than half as thick and the blade is only 1/2" from spine to cutting edge.

Thanked: 234do you ask because it's so narrow? 4/8s blades are used by men for their nimbleness, areas like the upper lip are much easier with a narrow blade.
I guess like the big old blades, some people just prefer the narrower ones.

Thanked: 402Well pics would be nice really but I don't think its a ladies.
There were several makers who manufactured very small blades.
"Wiener Schaber" for example.
"Weltmeister" 7/16" with 5.3 cm blade length, 11.3 cm scales.
"ERN Kid" with 5.5 cm blade length
"The Mab" with 5.5 cm blade length
"The Pew's Patent" (Monkey's Tale) with 5.6 cm blade length
and probably a lot more.Last edited by 0livia; 05-04-2009 at 11:11 AM.

Heartring razors are good shavers. I have 3 of them. The 4/8 blade is good for small targets, like the neck areas adjacent to the trachea. Maybe the knee as well, although I have never attempted that feat. The engraving of a ring of hearts is very attractive. I don't see why they would not shave legs as well as faces/necks.

Please don't forget that narrower razors, especially in the 3/8 and 4/8 sizes were used by barbers for the finishing work following a haircut for trimming the sideburns, around the back of the neck and behind the ears.
My own barber still uses straight razors for exactly that purpose.

I've seen small razors, not talking just width or length of the blade, but everything about the razor being smaller. I have a Robeson that is a mini type straight razor.
I have also seen on several occasions an extremely small straight razor. Miniaturized where the blade was approx 1" long and closed in the scales, the total length being approx 2". One in an antique shop was described as being a corn and callous knife for trimming the corns, callouses and bunions of a person's foot. That turned me off from buying it for some reason as it would have been simply a non-shaving novelty for me.
