I'm always a little surprised at how quick people on here are to give medical advice.

I won't advise one way or the other, but I'd do a little reading before I gooped it up with neosporin. I've seen a lot of research which suggests that stuff only makes things heal faster if it's somewhere that would get infected without it, and can really slow down the healing of an otherwise clean cut.

A razor cut is far away from hands, feet and sweat; and the area was freshly washed, and covered in soap, and a nice clean wound because of the sharp tool that caused it.

IME, most wounds heal fastest by cleaning them very well with soap and water, and then only keeping them bandaged until a good solid scab forms. No antibiotic ointment unless it's in a bad spot, no keeping it bandaged until it's healed. Just good old fashioned hygene. Of course, that's just my experience.

Good luck with the healing. I agree with the consensus that the entry by your spouses family was rude to say the least. I don't even enter my own sisters house without first being invited in.

2 to 10 mg of valium two to four times daily will fix your tendecy to be easily surprised.

@Disburden, hope the cut heals. The one thing about straights that worries me is a sudden noise making me jump.
