    I also use Firefox (ver 2.0) on Linux. As an experiment, I disabled JavaScript and indeed multiquote stopped working.

    Further, re-enabling JavaScript did not re-enable multiquote until I refreshed the page. My point being that if the OP's problem was indeed a disabled JavaScript an attempt to fix things may not appear to work.

    EDIT: A JavaScript TIP! Did you ever try to download an image and get a pop-up instead that says the image is protected from download? Well, that is a JavaScript implementation and disabling JavaScript will allow the download. There are other cases where a web page attempts to (over) control your browsing experience and disabling JavaScript will usually put things back to normal.
